Logan's H.E.A.R.T. began with one child's journey through Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) and the unexpected role rescued animals played in helping him rebuild his strength, confidence, and independence.
But we quickly learned something much bigger:
You don't have to share Logan's diagnosis to benefit from the connection, comfort, motivation, and purpose an animal can provide.
Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where rescued animals and people can help one another heal.

At Logan's H.E.A.R.T, our vision is to create a community where mental health is a top priority and individuals can access the resources they need to achieve optimal well-being.
The human-animal connection may provide meaningful support for people experiencing many different challenges, including:
Animals can make repetitive movement feel less like therapy and more like having a purpose—walking to the barn, grooming, filling a water bucket, reaching, lifting, brushing, or simply taking a few more steps.
Animals don't ask you to explain what happened. Their quiet presence, routine, and need for calm interaction can provide connection and a sense of safety.
For someone rebuilding after abuse, caring for an animal can offer a judgment-free connection and opportunities to rebuild confidence, trust, independence, and a sense of control.
Sometimes getting through the day starts with having a reason to get up and go outside. Animals provide routine, companionship, responsibility, movement, and connection without expecting you to pretend everything is okay.
The postpartum period can bring enormous physical and emotional changes. Time with animals and in a peaceful outdoor environment may provide connection, purposeful activity, and a break from the pressures of everyday life.
Recovery takes patience, consistency, accountability, and trust. Caring for an animal can provide meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to experience progress one small step at a time.
There are times when words simply aren't enough. Animals don't need you to find the right ones. Sometimes their quiet companionship is exactly what is needed.
Whether a child is navigating illness, physical limitations, emotional challenges, family changes, or simply needs a place to build confidence, animals can create opportunities for movement, connection, learning, and joy.
You don't need a medical diagnosis, a referral, or a label to be going through something difficult.
And sometimes you just need a quiet place with an animal who doesn't care about your past, your diagnosis, or what kind of day you're having.
That's where we hope Logan's H.E.A.R.T. can help.
Logan's H.E.A.R.T. programs are intended to provide supportive animal interactions, education, purposeful activities, and community connection. Our programs are not a substitute for medical care, physical therapy, mental health treatment, or other professional services. We encourage participants to continue working with their appropriate healthcare professionals.
