Sponsor a Rescue. Become Part of Their Story

Every animal at Logan’s H.E.A.R.T. has a story, and every one of them deserves a safe place. ❤️

When you sponsor an animal, you become part of their story. Your support helps provide the everyday care that keeps them happy, healthy, and loved; including feed, hay, farrier care, veterinary needs, medications, supplements, bedding, and more.

Choose an animal who steals your heart and help us continue giving them the life they deserve. 🐴🐐❤️

Can’t choose just one? You can also sponsor the herd and help wherever the need is greatest.

🎁 And as a special thank-you, your sponsorship may include a 3D-printed keepsake — choose your animal or let Logan surprise you!

Sweet, gentle, and always watching over the littles.

Romeo — The Herd Dad

Sweet, gentle, and always watching over the littles.

Romeo was one of our very first kill-pen rescues, but you would never know he had a rough chapter in his story from his gentle soul.

We believe Romeo may have once been a child’s 4-H horse, and it’s easy to see why. He is quite simply the sweetest gelding.

Believed to be in his early 30s, Romeo has aged beautifully — even our vet always comments on his “strong back for his age.”

Around here, though, Romeo has earned a much more important title: Herd Dad.

He watches over the littles, helps raise the babies, and has a way of making everyone feel safe.

Romeo may not have started his life with us, but he has certainly found his purpose here — being the quiet, gentle guardian of our herd. ❤️

Juliette — The Herd Momma

33 years young, completely bombproof, and always looking for the nearest water to play in.

At 33 years young, Juliette is our Herd Momma — and quite possibly the sweetest mare you will ever meet.

Before coming to Logan’s H.E.A.R.T., Juliette spent years as a lesson horse and later as a broodmare. Today, she has happily retired into the role she seems to love most: taking care of everyone. Young minis, cats, people… Juliette welcomes them all.

She is about as bombproof as they come, but don't let her dignified age fool you — this girl has personality! On a hot day, if the sprinkler isn't running, you can usually find Juliette standing in whichever water trough was most recently filled with nice, cold water.

Juliette has PPID and requires some extra care as a senior, but she continues to show us that getting older doesn't mean you stop enjoying the good stuff in life — especially when there's a freshly filled water trough nearby. 💦🐴🩷

Buddy — Logan’s Buddy

His knee ended his riding days, but certainly not his purpose.

Buddy has lived quite a life. Once an Ohio State stud, this well-trained gentleman has traveled, participated in breast cancer walks, attended weddings, given children's lessons, and experienced more than we will probably ever know.

Buddy came to us because of a significant knee injury. His previous owners could no longer keep him and needed a safe place where he could simply retire and be loved.

His knee may have made him “broken” in the riding world, but there is absolutely nothing broken about Buddy. He loves being groomed, enjoys a good bath, and has an incredible ability to give children confidence just by standing quietly beside them.

Around here, he became Logan’s Buddy — and the name stuck. ❤️

Smarty — The Gentleman

29 years old, no teeth, and quite possibly the sweetest stallion you'll ever meet.

Smarty came to us at 28 years old after his owner unexpectedly passed away from a rare flesh-eating bacterial infection.

A registered Quarter Horse Paint with wonderful bloodlines from the Color Me Smart line, Smarty spent his life as a stallion. Because of his advanced age when he arrived, gelding him was not considered the right option for him — so Smarty simply gets to live out his retirement here as our resident gentleman.

And gentleman truly describes him. He is one of the sweetest stallions we have ever encountered.

Now 29 and with no teeth, Smarty requires a very specialized senior diet and extra care to maintain his condition. He may require a little more work at feeding time, but this sweet old man is worth every bit of it. ❤️

Captain — The Reformed Troublemaker

The bottle baby gone wrong — who finally learned humans aren't for playing tag with.

Captain is what we lovingly call a bottle baby gone wrong.

Being raised by humans taught Captain something very early in life: people were great playmates! Unfortunately, one of his favorite games was tag — in the pasture.

That might have been cute when Captain was little. Once he became the very BIG boy he is today, his humans understandably didn't find the game nearly as entertaining. Eventually, they became afraid of him and Captain needed a place with people who could help him learn some better manners.

He has come an incredibly long way. Captain is a very well-broke horse, isn't afraid of much of anything, and underneath that big personality is a horse who absolutely loves to be loved and groomed.

Captain's story is a good reminder that sometimes a “problem horse” isn't a bad horse at all — he just needs someone willing to understand what he's been taught and help him learn something new.
